About the Speaker:
Harvey has an undergraduate degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1975. He enjoyed a 20+ year career in commercial banking, during which time, he held various positions in the bank as well as in voluntary capacities.
Harvey chaired the Small Business Banking Unit of the American Banker’s Association. He served on the Board of the George Street Playhouse, and was Chair of the Easter Seal Society of New Jersey for two years.
Along with family, Harvey acquired GWI Corp in February, 1997. At the time, it was a very small emblematic jewelry supplier whose largest business sector was marble paperweights for college bookstores. The bookstore business was intentionally phased out and business concentrated on the core (and now only) business segment – Supplier/Distributor/End buyer model. The company has grown 500% since that time.
Harvey has served on a number of industry affiliated boards. Past Chair of The SAAGNY Foundation. Past Chair of PPAF. Current Co-Chair of the PPAF EXPO. Past Chair of the Supplier Committee of PPAI. Past Vice Chair of Finance for PPEF. In addition various committees, task forces, and related voluntary assignments. Harvey was one of the original planners and implementers in the start of the original Business Recovery Fund.
