| | From Your President |  The 2013 calendar year is racing towards its conclusion and I find it hard to believe that we are already filling in dates and events for 2014. Before we wipe the slate clean for 2013, we still have great opportunities in the final 2 months to differentiate ourselves. If you find that during the holidays your customers are hard to nail down for sales appointments, try using a few days to continue to build relationships with your buyers. Deliver thank you gifts with no intention of bringing up the opportunity of another sale. Perhaps bring in breakfast or lunch for the staff just to say thank you. This is also a good time of year to begin to prepare for your 2014 goals! Separate your personal goals from your business goals, and jot down ideas you have for things you would like to accomplish next year. It will make your 2014 planning much faster and easier if you start now. Your PPAF board of directors is looking forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events. There will be a couple events in both Tampa and Orlando before the end of the year for you to join us. Please see our upcoming events list for all the details. Elections are underway for the 2014 board of directors (see below for details), and I am pleased to tell you that the people who have submitted their names for spots on the board are phenomenal! My feeling is that our board for 2014 could be one of the strongest in memory. They will have great talent, strength and diversity, and have the continuity of a very strong Executive Director in Dana Geiger. Our incoming President, Ashlee Poole (HIT) has proven her strengths in leadership and organization this past two years on the board, all while having fun! I look forward to witnessing her success in continuing to bring great value to our association membership. The Board meets eight times a year and meetings are open to all members.
