    TAMPA, FLORIDA (January 9, 2017)  - The Promotional Products Association of Florida (PPAF) is pleased to introduce Cheryl Small who will serve as the association’s new Executive Director.

    Cheryl officially started as the new Executive Director for PPAF on January 9, 2017 and didn't waste any time.  Right from day one, Cheryl was busy transitioning into her new role and getting ready for her first industry event at ASI Orlando on January 19 and 20, 2017.  it was here that Cheryl got to meet members, prospective members, and talk with suppliers about exhibiting at the upcoming PPAF EXPO on August 29 and 30, 2017.  

    PPAF President Shelley Bednarski commented, “PPAF is so fortunate to have Cheryl as the Association Executive Director.  Her experience and contacts will be a tremendous asset as PPAF continues to push forward. Cheryl has the magnetic personality and work ethic that is precisely what PPAF needs."

    PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA – JULY 28, 2015 - Effective August 2015, top 50 supplier Pro Towels (asi 79750 /ppai 112755) has acquired supplier Kanata Blanket Company (asi 63823/ ppai 217153/ pppc 980901).

    Pro Towels is the largest full-service beach, golf, fitness and rally towel supplier within the Promotional Products Industry. With corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, Pro Towels has manufacturing and decorating facilities located in both South Carolina and California.

Jessica McKinnon will remain as Canadian Sales Manager, based in Richmond, BC and assisted by Devon Manwaring.     Bodek and Rhodes To Move To Larger Warehouse in Orlando, FL

    Bodek and Rhodes, one of the largest Apparel Distributors in the USA, announced they will be moving their warehouse operations in Orlando, FL to a larger local facility.  Located in the same vicinity as the current warehouse, the new location boasts approximately 200,000 sq ft of storage area, allowing for increased stocking capacity.

    “The new facility isn’t just bigger, it’s more convenient for pick-ups,” said Rich Weisbrod, VP of Operations. “Customers can park directly at the front door or drive up our ramp for larger orders, and the new location is easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike.”

    The current Orlando warehouse will suspend operations at 6:30PM on Tuesday, May 12 to allow for the transition to the new location. On Monday, May 18, all operations will resume at 8:00 AM at the new location.

    Towel Specialties hires industry veteran Kirk Ross

    (Baltimore, MD ) – Towel Specialties announced today the addition of 26 year industry veteran Kirk Ross as Vice President of National Accounts. Beginning on April 1, Mr. Ross will be responsible for sales growth with key partners as well as new business development from his home base in Minnesota.

    Most recently, Mr. Ross worked for the AIA Corporation for 5 years as their Business Sales Development Manager. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Ross represented Towel Specialties as a multi-line rep in Minnesota, prior to becoming Vice President of Sales for Aloe Up and then Starline.

    A funny thing happened on the way to PPAF…

    As a long time distributor, I thought of PPAF as a great regional show at an important time of the year.  It gave me ideas for fourth quarter and recharged my batteries for the home stretch.  I so underestimated the membership’s value.  

    One you need to consider is The PPAF Coupon Book…  I did a little homework and found many savings that were not offered elsewhere.  We used them, and saved 11 times the cost of our membership in offers in just seven months.  Three coupons paid for our yearly membership!  Our great suppliers in this industry are supporting PPAF tremendously in this and many other ways.

    The twelve-person volunteer Board is comprised of industry leaders that represent a combination of supplier and distributor companies.

    The 2015 Board President is David Goggin, CEO of DBG Promotions. Goggin brings over 24 years of experience as a distributor in the industry and has served on the PPAI Government Relations Committee; The Premier Group Board of Directors and past President of The Executives Association of Greater Orlando.

    The remainder of the executive team includes:: Immediate Past President Ashlee Poole (Hit Promotional Products), Vice President Donna Pearce, CAS (Boundless Network), Treasurer Shelley Bednarski (Chocolate Inn/  Taylor & Grant) and Secretary Cathy Hicks-James (TCJ Marketing).
